EMERGENCIES: DIAL 9-1-1

Emergency Preparedness

Preparedness Guide Copy

Have you given thought to "How can I better safeguard my family, my home, or my business when disasters like fires, severe weather, and extended power outages strike?" If so, the attached Emergency Preparedness Guide is going to help you answer those questions.

Disasters can strike quickly, and without a preparedness plan, many people can be left not knowing what to do in an emergency. The members of the Emergency Management Community Council saw this need and worked together to create something specific for our community. This guide is designed to help local residents of the Lake Tahoe area be prepared for disasters.

The goal of this Emergency Preparedness Guide is to raise awareness of emergency events and potential disasters that could threaten the Lake Tahoe area, educate residents and visitors on what steps they can and should take to protect themselves and their property, and motivate residents and visitors to take those steps. Please take the time to read this guide and become informed and prepared.
