WUI Building Materials
2024 WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE CODE
On October 15, 2025, Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District adopted the 2024 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code (IWUI), to be effective January 1, 2026.
Specification sheets must be provided for exterior building materials during Level 1 and/or Level 2 review. Materials must meet Class 1, Ignition Resistant Construction as specified in Chapter 5 of the 2025 IWUI code book.

LANDSCAPE (DEFENSIBLE SPACE) TRPA AND FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS
Plan review Level I shall meet IWUI Chapter 6 Requirments. Plan submittal should include a site plan showing the location of trees and brush, access roads/driveways, fire hydrants or fire flow, and elevations.
